The smiles of going back to the classroom

Go back ... as Gardel sang. After almost two years, more than 612,800 students return to their classrooms this Monday to continue the 2020-2021 school year in person. The phrase repeated a thousand times, and dreamed of millions, sounds completely full when you see their faces. Friends who meet, teachers who will scold, guide and review assignments, a bell that will ring again to mark schedules and a recess more than desired.

One of the many why is concentrated on this Monday. It will have been worth it, once again, every night that Guillén, Dagmar, Yuri, Vérez, Belinda ... did not go to their homes, they did not put their children to bed, they did not read stories. This November 8 closes one of the cycles of an idea, a battle, a science that was consolidated in injection that saves and brings smiles.

According to data offered last Friday by the Minister of Education, more than 90% of students have been vaccinated. Of them, 6th grade students return to classrooms this November 8. grade of primary education, all students of Basic Secondary (also those who study those grades in Special Education); 10th. and 11th. of pre-university, as well as 1st. and 2nd. year of Professional Technical Education and Pedagogical Schools.

On October 4, a part of the Cuban students returned to the classroom and the rest will do so on November 15. That day we will be closer to the old normality, now with a little dose of the new. Taking care of each other is a hackneyed phrase that we should not forget. In the classrooms, many friends await to be born, notebooks to fill and dreams to form.
