The Courses for Workers arise to respond to the training needs of workers who do not meet the qualification requirements demanded by the implementation of new high profile job qualifiers.
These courses may include workers from different state labor entities or new forms of non-state management, with ninth or twelfth grade.
For these courses there are different ministerial resolutions that regulate the curricula and establish the requirements to enter them. Ministerial Resolution 105 / 2006 is for workers in the state sector. Indispensable requirements for enrolment in the courses referred to are the following:
1) Present a letter signed by the director of the labor entity, which endorses the years of work and the commitment to provide time for the student worker to participate in the course.
2) To be carrying out the labor activity in jobs related to the specialty to be enrolled, for a period of not less than three years.
3) Present by the student worker the documents that certify the level of schooling of 9th or 12th grades, as appropriate. Note: Those who enter with ninth grade study the specialty in four years. Twelfth-graders enter in two years.
Ministerial Resolution 384 / 2015 is for graduate students of skilled workers in the polytechnic centers of the Ministry of Education, with a duration of two and a half years. The only requirement for the specialty to be studied is to be related to that studied in the skilled worker.
Ministerial Resolution 201 / 2016 has as its objective the training of mid-level technicians in courses for meetings aimed at workers incorporated into new forms of non-state management in the gastronomy and services activity. As a requirement, the person must carry a letter from ONAT, accrediting him or her as an account holder in this branch. For those who have the ninth grade has a duration of four years and for those who enter with twelfth grade only a year and a half.
Ministerial Resolution 70 / 2017 has as its objective the training of mid-level technicians in courses for workers in the specialty of Accounting. To enter these courses, the candidates must have the twelfth grade and meet the requirements set forth in Ministerial Resolution 105 / 2006.
These courses have a duration of two years.
Note: Students who graduate from these courses finish with the equivalent of a twelfth grade, may opt for any university degree, even if it is not related to the average technician studied, and have the right to enter the university through different routes:
1. If they choose the regular day course, they have to take the entrance tests.
2. If they choose the course for workers, they do not take the entrance tests.
Bodies wishing to qualify their workers by Ministerial Resolutions 105 / 2006 and 70 /2017 must issue a letter with the request for the courses they need, with the nominal list of possible students (not less than fifteen people), and the degree of schooling they possess. Always before May 15 of each year. This must have the signature of the Director of the entity and the corresponding stamp.
