56th cycling edition

Leandro Marcos –from the Capital- was the winner of the 56th Edition of the Australian Cycling Championship held in Guanajay this Sunday, January 12th.Luis Alejandro Ramírez from Granma, crossed the sentence line behind him, and then Jean Luis Arrieta from Guanajay, in that order.

Arrieta also won the gold medal in the Youth Category; while the silver medal was granted to Javier Cabrera from Pinar del Río; and the bronze medal to Bayron Ponce from Havana.Two “Guanajayenses” (born in Guanajay municipality) were crowned by the Masters: Alan Carballo in Master “A” category and Raúl Castillo in Master “B”; who was escorted by Javier García –from the same municipality-and after them Rosbel Guiñón from Havana. Alien García -from the capital of all Cubans- and Yosvany Alvarez from Mayabeque were second and third in Master “A”.

X WORKERS’ RECREATIONAL SPORTS GAMES 2019.

The Central of Cuban Workers and National Trade Unions -in coordination with the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation-call toparticipate in X Recreational Sports Games of Workers; to be held in all municipalities and provincesin the different disciplines with the following objective:Achieve a greater incorporation of workers to systematic practice of physical, sports and recreational activities;as a way to improve the quality of life and, as a result, increase the production and work productivity. They are summoned in thefollowing disciplines: Chess (M-F), Baseball (M), Softball (M), Athletics (M-F), Indoor Football (M-F), and Recreational Basketball (M-F).

National Competition of Sports Fishing-Spinning

The National Sports Fishing-Spinning was held in our Province, Bahia Honda municipality; where there were representatives from 6 provinces; among them: Pinar del Río, Havana, Villa Clara, Ciego de Ávila, Cienfuegos, and Artemisa. There was a total of 27 fishermen and 16 boat masters; plus 3 members of the National Federation of Sports Fishing; as well as directors of the municipality and the Province; with the support of the PCC and INDER.
